#ISWG: Flexibility

It's the first Wednesday and time for the Insecure Writers Support Group, whose mission is to share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds! IWSG is the brainchild of Ninja Captain Alex J. Cavanaugh Thanks, Alex, for starting this group and keeping it going. And thanks to this month's awesome hosts:  Megan Morgan, Chris Votey, Viola Fury, Christine Rains, Madeline Mora-Summonte, L.G. Keltner, Rachna Chhabria, and Patricia Lynne!

Since many of you are doing A to Z Challenge, I'll make this short and, hopefully, helpful. To succeed as a writer you have to be flexible. I don't mean jump at each new trend, but be willing to try to new things.

If you have time and more interest, I wrote a lengthier post on this topic last week over at The Roses of Prose. I will be without internet service until the weekend when I'll try to get to everyone. Thanks for understanding.

  1. Without internet? *gasp* How will you survive?! On a more serious note, YES! Flexibility to the max. And then you have to exercise muscles you didn't know existed.

  2. Laughing at Crystal's comment. But then recognizing the fact that I'm not sure how I would do without Internet for days on end. One day, sure, but multiple days? I don't know...

Anyway, I agree. Flexibility is SO important!

  3. I'm still working at being flexible in my writing but improvement is being made. However, flexible in the physical sense is ..... never gonna happen :)

  4. Great message Diane, we sure have to be flexible and reinvent ourselves all the time, and as writers, we have no excuse to get lazy. :-)

  5. I agree with the others, this is a great message and something I need to remember. Sadly I'm not very good at it LOL.

Love getting your comments. BTW, your comment won't show up until you refresh the page. Isn't that a pain? Thanks for stopping by.
