Spotlight on MISTAKES OF THE PAST by Patricia Josephine

A special welcome to my friend and Michigan author Patricia Josephine. She has a cute conversation between Luc and Rose from MISTAKES OF THE PAST. You can really see their characters. (pun intended)

Character Interview with Luc and Rose

First off, introduce yourself.

Luc grins: Devilishly handsome.

Rose looks at him: What?

Luc: Sinfully seductive.

Rose: ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

Luc makes halo motion over his head.

Rose grumbles: Hardly.

Can we get back on track?

Rose: Yes! I’m Rose. I grew up in Thornwood aka the middle of nowhere where it was like Cheers and everyone knows your name. *Turns to Luc* Your turn and focus.

Luc holds up his hands: Fine. I’m focused. Hi, I’m Luc and you know who I am. *Winks and makes horns over his head with his fingers*

Rose grumbles: I give up.

Next question then. What impression do you think people get from looking at the other? Example: Rose, what do you think people think when they see Luc?

Rose tilts her head at Luc: Quiet, kind, someone to trust.

Luc: And sexy?

Rose: They can but they better not voice it around me.

Luc grins: I do love a fiery person. As for Rose, they think she’s a hipster or impulsive young woman. A lot think she’s beautiful. Some need their minds washed with soap.

Rose: Oh…

Both of you have parental issues to put it nicely.

Rose scoffs.

Do you think you turned out the way they expected?

Rose shrugs: I guess. I don’t really think about crap like that.

Luc wraps an arm around her: They’d be proud. You’re awesome.

Rose: And you’re a suck up.

Luc: Yup.

And you, Luc, what about your parent?

Luc: I’m sure now He’s happy with how I turned out. It’s hard to tell. Dad isn’t very chatty. Mostly, when there was parental figure back home, it was Michael. He’s such a nanny. Casey is a close second.

Rose: Cassiel’s going to come down and punch you when he finds out you called him that. I am not protecting your either.

Luc: It suits him.

One last question and it’s a fun one. What is one place you’d love to visit?

Luc: Hell, Michigan.

Rose: o.O

Luc: In the winter, so I can make a snow angel. And say Hell froze over. *Grins*

Rose:…I hate you.

Luc: No, you don’t.

Blurb:
Luc seeks atonement for the actions that banished him from his home. Living as a priest in a small town, he strives to show how much he’s changed with the hope that one day he can return to his family.

Haunted by the guilt that destroyed her family, Rose has shut her heart off. She vows to never let anyone near again lest she hurt them. When she meets Luc, she can’t deny the draw she feels to him.

But the past is not easily forgotten. When Luc’s past finds him, Rose is caught in the middle. Forced to face who he used to be, Luc must decide if he’s willing to give up his chance at redemption to save Rose. But doing so means he won’t be able to hide who he is. Will Rose be able to reconcile the man she knows with the devil he used to be? Or are the mistakes of the past too damning?

About the Author:
Patricia Josephine never set out to become a writer. In fact, she never considered it an option during high school and college. She was all about art. On a whim, she wrote down a story bouncing in her head. That was the start of it and she hasn't regretted a moment. She writes young adult under the name Patricia Lynne.

Patricia lives with her husband in Michigan, hopes one day to have what will resemble a small petting zoo, has a fondness for dying her hair the colors of the rainbow, and an obsession with Doctor Who.

  3. Hello Diane
You make a good point. It's impossible for me not to review and fix my last chapter before moving on. I blame the critique group I was in for over twenty years. We fixed and re-read our chapters regularly.
