Read an E-Book Week

This week we're celebrating e-books. If you've seen any of the other posts on this subject, you'll probably notice my logo for the week is different. Since my books are about adventures, I thought this one was very appropriate.

Books have always been an adventure for me. They transport me from the humdrum, everyday to worlds I can only dream--or read--about. I can visit foreign lands or even other planets. With each book, my mind stretches and grows, my imagination takes over. It's the same when I write.

When e-readers came out, I refused to get one. I loved the feel of a paper book. Almost four years ago, Hubs "twisted my arm" and got me a Kindle for my birthday. How amazing! I realized what I was missing.  I LOVE e-books!

In honor of "Read an E-Book Week", Smashwords is offering all my science fiction romances at half price. Yes, $2.00 each. Look for the coupon code at the site for each book that you'll need at checkout.

When wise-cracking Jessie Wyndom is beamed from her farmhouse in Ann Arbor, MI aboard an Alliance starship, she meets a regular Mr. Spock. Captain Marcus Viator's well-organized life is turned upside down by a free-spirited Terran. Fate brings them together. Treachery tears them apart.

Be careful what you wish for . . . you might get it.

Scott Cherella's lifelong dream to go into space quickly becomes a nightmare. Veronese Qilana must protect him, a Terran masquerading as a starship captain. When sabotage erupts, they must work together to get the crew safely home. In doing so, they discover opposites really do attract.

Actions have consequences as Space Fleet Captain Marcus Viator and NASA reject Scott Cherella discover when they switched places. SWITCHED RESOLUTION, which wraps up the Switched series, takes the reader from Earth—where Marcus adjusts to a pregnant Jessie—to the starship Freedom commandeered by rebels, to the chase ship with Scott and Veronese aboard.

  1. I'm sorry for the duplicate post. I fear it was eaten. I believe that ebooks are the staple around homes these days. I love being able to read one anywhere I want to, and at any time. Besides, my hubby is happier because we have three less bookshelves. :)

  2. Thanks, Melissa. Looks like your 1st comment WAS eaten. LOL When we moved, I donated most of my paperback & hard cover books to my local library. Just don't have the space in the new house. I love the Kindle because it's so handy to read anywhere.

  3. I guess what I love most about my Kindle is that I can find books that otherwise would be unavailable to me. We are without a regular bookstore where I live, and the grocery/drugstores only carry the big best sellers. As long as it's a good story, I don't care if I'm reading it as an ebook or a paper one.

    1. I agree, Lucy. I have found so many new authors through e-books and I've found out of print books that are now e-books.

  4. My favorites will probably always be print books (I can't dog-ear my Nook!) but I will admit that it's a space saver and a great way to find new authors! :)

    1. You're right, Kristen, about not dog-earring your Nook (or Kindle). Also right about it being a space saver. Reading is reading, no matter how we do it.

  5. I am still conflicted about ebooks. It's so convenient and I use it all the time. But, but, I miss the paper in my hands. I recently bought a book in hard cover that I already owned on my Kindle. I just needed those pages to flip through.

Thanks for swinging by my blog =)

    1. When you have a paper book in your hands, you can always see the title. My Kindle is so old (LOL) that it doesn't have the title at the top of the pages so I'm never sure of the title. :( Definitely a drawback.
