Books have always been an adventure for me. They transport me from the humdrum, everyday to worlds I can only dream--or read--about. I can visit foreign lands or even other planets. With each book, my mind stretches and grows, my imagination takes over. It's the same when I write.
When e-readers came out, I refused to get one. I loved the feel of a paper book. Almost four years ago, Hubs "twisted my arm" and got me a Kindle for my birthday. How amazing! I realized what I was missing. I LOVE e-books!

I'm sorry for the duplicate post. I fear it was eaten. I believe that ebooks are the staple around homes these days. I love being able to read one anywhere I want to, and at any time. Besides, my hubby is happier because we have three less bookshelves. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Melissa. Looks like your 1st comment WAS eaten. LOL When we moved, I donated most of my paperback & hard cover books to my local library. Just don't have the space in the new house. I love the Kindle because it's so handy to read anywhere.
ReplyDeleteI guess what I love most about my Kindle is that I can find books that otherwise would be unavailable to me. We are without a regular bookstore where I live, and the grocery/drugstores only carry the big best sellers. As long as it's a good story, I don't care if I'm reading it as an ebook or a paper one.

DeleteMy favorites will probably always be print books (I can't dog-ear my Nook!) but I will admit that it's a space saver and a great way to find new authors! :)

DeleteI am still conflicted about ebooks. It's so convenient and I use it all the time. But, but, I miss the paper in my hands. I recently bought a book in hard cover that I already owned on my Kindle. I just needed those pages to flip through.

When you have a paper book in your hands, you can always see the title. My Kindle is so old (LOL) that it doesn't have the title at the top of the pages so I'm never sure of the title. :( Definitely a drawback.
