Meet Eva Gordon

It's fitting that as we get closer to Halloween, the more exciting the books. Eva Gordon is on the Into The Woods Blog Tour and today she visits here.

Welcome, Eva, tell us about yourself:

I write genre bending paranormal/fantasy novels with a strong romantic element. HEA. I love to create stories that combine my passion for mythology, romance, suspense and werewolf lore. I also write steampunk and Victorian era historical and alternative novels. Busy sending them out to agents and publishers.

Lycan Gladiator is book 1 in my paranormal wolfish romance historical series, The Wolf Maiden Saga. Book 2, Wolf Knight in King Arthur’s Court is with my editor.

I also have another book Apocalyptic Moon in my After the Bane series (paranormal romance/zombie apocalypse) out. Soon to be followed by Book 2, Raven Moon.

I have a BS in Zoology and graduate studies in Biology. I have taught high school Biology, Environmental Science and Anatomy/Physiology. When not in my den writing, I enjoy world travel, steampunk conventions, hiking, raptor rehabilitation and wolf sanctuaries.

I also teach online workshops on wolf lore ancient falconry and animal lore for Romance Writers of America and other writer groups. If you are interested in my workshops, please contact me.

What is your work schedule like when you're writing?

I get up early for coffee and breakfast. Check and answer e-mails. Then I go to hot yoga. From 10:30 to 4:30 (with a 15 minute break for hike/dog walk) I write and or edit. Goal: 2000 words/day.

What do you like to do when you're not writing?

Bird watch, run errands, volunteer at the raptor center, yoga, and hike with my dog.

What is the best part of writing for you?

Escaping into a world that is dark, dangerous, steamy and adventurous with good dose of romance.

What do you enjoy most about writing?

I love creating the first draft but I equally enjoy editing and polishing.

What do you enjoy most about life?

I like doing just about everything my characters do. Family, going on adventurous travel, appreciating the outdoors and the environment, working with animals and romance of course.

What are some jobs you've done that would end up in a book?

I’ve done science research, taught high school biology and anatomy/physiology and volunteered at a wolf sanctuary. So yes, those jobs do end up or will end up in a book.

If I was a first time reader of your books, which one would you recommend I start with and why?

Any will work if you like werewolves. If you prefer the zombie apocalypse genre, start with Apocalyptic Moon, Book 1 in the After the Bane series. If you like epic paranormal/fantasy/historical romance start with Lycan Gladiator, Book 1 in the Wolf Maiden Saga. And if you like steampunk stay tuned for Hand of Miriam, release date January 10, 2014.

Tell us about your latest book.

Lycan Gladiator  is set against the backdrop of Ancient Rome. It takes place during the 79 AD reign of Roman Emperor Domitian. It is a time of bloody gladiatorial games and treacherous schemes. It involves the secret society of lycans that live amongst humans. I just love crossing over the genres of epic fantasy, paranormal historical romance and alternative history.

Werewolves and gladiators oh my!

Lycan Gladiator is a wonderful mix of history and the paranormal. This is a unique tale filled with intrigue, action, danger, and a forbidden romance. I couldn't put it down! The story was well thought out and beautifully executed. It was plain to see there was a lot of thought put into this world of gladiator werewolves.
