How did you all survive Thanksgiving and Black Friday? As I posted on The Roses of Prose yesterday, I don't go shopping the day after Thanksgiving. Normally. This year, Hubs wanted to check out a hobby store that carried model trains. Daughter-in-law graciously drove us to not one but two stores. At the second, he picked out his Christmas presents--at my urging, by the way. We have so few surprises anymore. He's learned not to buy me clothes and I've run out of ideas for the woodworker/model train enthusiast. I used to think it odd that my father-in-law would say "Your mother picked out her Christmas present today." Now I understand. Anyway, back to Black Friday--we got quite a deal on the trains he wanted and I think we relieved the owner's boredom. We were the only ones in his shop for about an hour.
Speaking of deals. How would you like to read some holiday short stories? Free holiday stories. Once again The Roses of Prose are featuring an anthology of stories during December, starting today. Our stories center around a Santa suit, hence the title THE SANTA SUIT CHRONICLES. Hop on over to The Roses of Prose blog and start reading.
Welcome.
I'm glad you stopped by. I hope you'll stop by again.

I never go out on Black Friday either, but I did take advantage of Cyber Monday...it's more my thing. Thanks for telling us about the free stories! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, Chrys. Have a great holiday.
DeleteHa. Me and my husband kind of buy our own gifts these days too. But it is always fun to surprise someone with something you're pretty sure they will like.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Tamara. Surprises are always fun.
