It's the 1st Wednesday of April. Happy Insecure Writers Support Group Day. IWSG is the brainchild of Ninja Captain Alex J. Cavanaugh.
Purpose: To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds! Thanks, Alex, for starting this group and keeping it going. And thanks to this month's awesome hosts: Olga Godim, Chemist Ken, Renee Scattergood, and Tamara Narayan!
Since so many of you are doing the A to Z Challenge, my post is short. My writing was going well until last Thursday. I was feeling so good about not getting the flu, winter cold, etc. (like the rest of my family) when WHAM I got it. The coughing crud. Writing stopped . . . temporarily. I'm less than 10k words from the end of NUMBERS NEVER LIE. I'll get back to it, once I stop coughing up a lung.
Update after going to urgent care: it's not just the "crud." Turns out I have pneumonia. Hopefully the antibiotics will take care of it.
Here's my PSA: if you're coughing your head off, go to the doctor or urgent care. The flu (influenza) is back and pneumonia is no fun.

Good luck to everyone who is doing A to Z. More power to you!

Feel better soon, Di! Nothing like the "Spring" crud.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nancy. Turns out it's pneumonia.
DeleteOh, no, the crud! Feel better soon :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ellen. Got antibiotics. Hopefully, they do the trick.
DeleteHope you feel better soon. My daughter and her boyfriend just came down with the flu too.
ReplyDeleteOh, no! The doc said it's back and tested me for it. No flu, thank goodness.
DeleteTake care of yourself. I've had that flu and it knocked my socks off.
ReplyDeleteAnna from elements of emaginette
Thanks, Anna. It's no fun.
DeleteI'm so sorry. My oldest brought home a head cold. It's a witness to how poorly he washes his hands that we all ended up with a head cold within 24 hours. *sigh* What can you do? Life, eh?
ReplyDeleteThat's awful, Crystal. Hubs is running around with Lysol wipes. Hope your family gets better soon.
DeleteBless your heart, Diane. Hope it's short-lived and you're soon back at the keyboard.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sandy.
DeleteI know how you're feeling. It hit me two weeks ago and I started bouncing back last week. Take care of yourself. You'll come back strong. That much I am sure of.
ReplyDeleteShalom aleichem,
Pat G @ EverythingMustChange
Thanks, Pat. This really knocked me for a loop.
DeleteSo sorry you got hit with it! Get lots of rest and take care of yourself.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Patty. I'm resting a lot.
Delete10,000k to done is awesome! You deserve some self-pampering so you can get back at it after you've recovered. Don't short-change yourself in the rest department.
ReplyDeletePneumonia is no fun. I hope you are feeling better soon so you can crush that 10k!
ReplyDeleteTake care of yourself and get better soon. When you do, reward yourself with some writing.
