#IWSG - Down But Not Out

It's the 1st Wednesday of April. Happy Insecure Writers Support Group Day. IWSG is the brainchild of Ninja Captain Alex J. Cavanaugh.

Purpose: To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds! Thanks, Alex, for starting this group and keeping it going. And thanks to this month's awesome hosts:  Olga Godim, Chemist Ken, Renee Scattergood, and Tamara Narayan!

Since so many of you are doing the A to Z Challenge, my post is short. My writing was going well until last Thursday. I was feeling so good about not getting the flu, winter cold, etc. (like the rest of my family) when WHAM I got it. The coughing crud. Writing stopped . . . temporarily. I'm less than 10k words from the end of NUMBERS NEVER LIE. I'll get back to it, once I stop coughing up a lung.

Update after going to urgent care: it's not just the "crud." Turns out I have pneumonia. Hopefully the antibiotics will take care of it.

Here's my PSA: if you're coughing your head off, go to the doctor or urgent care. The flu (influenza) is back and pneumonia is no fun.

Good luck to everyone who is doing A to Z. More power to you!

    1. Oh, no! The doc said it's back and tested me for it. No flu, thank goodness.

  4. Take care of yourself. I've had that flu and it knocked my socks off.

  5. I'm so sorry. My oldest brought home a head cold. It's a witness to how poorly he washes his hands that we all ended up with a head cold within 24 hours. *sigh* What can you do? Life, eh?

  7. I know how you're feeling. It hit me two weeks ago and I started bouncing back last week. Take care of yourself. You'll come back strong. That much I am sure of.

  9. 10,000k to done is awesome! You deserve some self-pampering so you can get back at it after you've recovered. Don't short-change yourself in the rest department.
