Welcome to the 3rd annual Authors in Bloom Blog
Hop. This is my first time and I hope you have as much fun as I am.
Spring is my favorite time of year mainly because of new
growth. Since I moved last fall, I had to hurry and plant bulbs so I would have
tulips and daffodils this spring. My tulips are poking their heads out of the
ground right outside my office window. Here in Michigan we had a horrendous winter.
The snow is finally gone around our house. Yay!
GARDENING TIP
Planting spring bulbs is easy and they produce every year,
each time more abundantly. The bulbs will multiply until they are too crowded.
So every four or five years, it helps to dig them up and divide. Tulips are
among the most colorful of the spring bulbs. If you want continuous color,
choose bulbs that are early blooming (should say on the package), mid-season
and late blooming. For the effort expended one fall, you will enjoy color for
many years.
My latest romantic suspense ONE RED SHOE takes place in
spring. Here’s the blurb.
Daria
Mason’s life is too predictable. Nothing ever happens in her small Iowa town
where everybody knows everybody else. But when she travels to New York City
looking for a little excitement, she never expects to bring home a wounded spy.
From
the moment agent Sam Jozwiak steals intel vital to US security from a Russian
Mafia kingpin, Murphy’s Law takes over. No matter how he covers his tracks, the
kingpin’s assassins find him. What’s worse than getting shot in the butt?
Accepting help from an Iowa tourist.
Sam
and Daria flee cross country with the assassins right behind them. Sharing
danger and excitement—and a few kisses—with Sam soon has Daria convinced he’s
the man for her. He thinks she’ll be better off once he’s out of her life for
good. With their lives on the line, can she convince him they belong together?
What is your favorite
spring flower?

Due to a million critters, we can only grow a few hearty plants--periwinkle, ferns, foxglove. Deer even ate the blue rug this winter. Sigh. Anyway, One Red Shoe looks like a great read. Thanks for the blog.
ReplyDeleteToo bad about the rug.

DeleteThanks you for the tip! I've always wondered how to go about keeping a tulip bed colorful all season long. I didn't realize there were tulips that came up at different times.
ReplyDeleteGlad I could help.

Zinnias are very colorful. Here in Mich. they don't bloom until July/August.
